Draft pick being abused

So there is one rank game where me and my friends lost. We weren't the first pick to ban a hero. It was our enemy and we suspected that they did NOT ban a hero on purpose. So when it was our turn to ban, we suggested Haya to be banned because we knew enemy would pick Karrie and we know how to counteract Karrie, unfortunately, the 5th person in our team mistakenly banned Karrie instead of Haya so the enemy went to pick Haya. We felt like it was done on purpose, they didn't ban so they could either get Karrie or Haya, and we also had the feeling that the enemy team was probably expecting we'd ban Karina so they could get both if ever we don't pick either Karrie and Haya.

While we are aware that the 5th peson may go AFK temporarily and not ban, or may be a GM playing with Epic and new to draft pick and did not ban, neither of those options seem to be the case. Because the 5th person on the enemy team didn't look like he AFk, he picked Aurora. All his teammates picked strong heroes. They had Haya, Chou, Clint, Aurora, and Mino. Anyways we lost to that team. We checked their profiles after the match and all of them were ex Legend users.

I think there should be a punishment when the 5th person fails to ban a hero like a reduction in credit because draft pick can be abused.

i like if people dont ban any hero then random hero got banned..cmon man its ban pick and u dont ban?ehen u dont pick u got random hero and when u dont ban system baned random hero

Hey man thats called strategy.. you need to outsmarted your enemy.. and its our rights not to banned anyone if it can benefit out team

I don't think it is necessary. It is a strategy game.
Right now, Karrie, Hayabusa, and Chou is the high ban pick.
Even when I play rank, if one of the team did not ban, we won't ban as well.
and we try to get the hero that is on meta (Like Karrie, Haya or Chou) if none of our team know how to play the game, we choose our best hero and hope for the best.

In this kind of game, you just wait for them to make a mistake and then you attack. It is all about strategy.

Don't see the point of punishment, just learn to beat Haya as he can't kill you when you gank him right.

Its really about strategy, i am queueing up with lots of really good players and what i have learned from them is to always ban: chou, hayabusa, karrie,karina this is because they are the strongest people are just predicting this sort of stuff because they are meta

well just ban any other hero and pick haya/karrie/chou whichever 2 they didnt pick

i suggest that if the player purposely did not ban any hero, the system automatically randomly ban top 4 banned heroes.
