Yes, I have read your article about this "amazing" algorithm too, and I believe and agree to it. Zzzz... Well, I have collected some theories about the reasons why the devs put the damned-personal-win-rate-public-publishing in profile as a feature:
1. It forces players to play seriously (well, it's good)
2. Squad membership requirements (well, it's good)
3. It can sure another players you can use certain hero well when you go solo ranked (well, it'll have some flaws, I'll explain below)
4. To keep players play this game with their friends, if not exist, it'll force them to invite their friends to join the game (it's good to the game owner only IMO)
5. To keep players play this game to repair their win rate so they can proud it to their friends. Meh! so childish and egoist purpose (it's really really bad, it can harm children or teens personality and character)
Win rate will never enough to tell us that the player is good or not. Consider about intentionally AFK, intentionally feeders, toxic, or any accident(s) that is occurred so it forces the players to AFK, etc., right? Consider too about if the player always get a good team and/or get noob enemies. The player will get high win rate, but it cannot be concluded that the player good enough in playing. So that's why I don't like they expose players' personal win rate information coz it's vain. People became so mean and got angry too much, especially they blamed too much in this forum just because unknown-reason of AFK, matchmaking system, bad teams, lags, etc etc., so players can never enjoy and feel the art of the MLBB... Huft... |
