About your hero buying choice. You said you were epic. When I was in epic, back when Diggie was pretty new, no one picked him. Even if the enemy picked Akai, no one picked him or even had him. This was because no one wanted to pay 24000 bp for a support when they can buy Roger, Karrie or save up for a 32000 bp hero. I actually solo climbed from Epic 4 to Epic 1 with Diggie and Grock. But after that, I joined at squad and started played in Duos, Trios or 5 man groups. Here is where Diggie really shines. With the use of communication (Discord), Diggie can be one of the best "teamfighters" in the game. Actually, my winrate with Diggie in Legend Division is 85% with 30 games. Because most of the time I played with Squadmates.
However, If you are a SOLO player, Ruby is a far better option. She is like Diggie, in the sense that she cause protect teammates, CC enemies and is a great teamfighter. But she is also independent and hard to kill. Diggie is the opposite. Without teamplay Diggie can be easily bursted down.
So my conclusion is:
1. If you plan to join a squad and want to fill a valuable role, MAIN DIGGIE.
2. If you plan to be a Solo player even after reaching Legend Division (a place where groups are far better option) pick Ruby.
Hope this has helped. And just to show how hilarious Diggie can be:
