As a chou main I can accept the fact they decreased hp and increased damage in order to bring him into the offensive spectre. But i can not understand the reasoning behind the CD increase of Jeet Kune Doe. This is the only thing that truly irritates me.
Further more... because of last item rework there are no CD reduction items left for Chou to compensate the CD nerf, only items with useless stats such as +mana and +mana regen, stats that add up to the items price. New passive Oracle and WotAQ with insane CD duration became obsolete for Chou. The only CD reduction you can truly rely on are the tank, support and assasin emblems (NOT the fighter emblem).
For Chou to become a decent fighter hero, he needs a sustained HP regen like other warrior heroes have or a sustainable CC skill. Spell Vamp can't give him that; Life Steal is a bit better, but in order for lifesteal to be effective you need Physical ATK items or Attack Speed items, sacrificing durability on an initiator hero, who becomes an instant target for enemy ults; same goes with the burst damage Crit Chance builds–those damage builds are risky for ranked games and are effective in the hands of very experienced Chou players with good team setup.
My point is that Chou cannot be a decent Fighter hero without sustained HP regen or at least spammable CC skill. The devs took both away, plus they took decent amount of HP growth. People will still use tank gear on him in order to be able to sustain a fight despite all the nerfs. Thus, this makes Chou weaker. |
