Heroes like valir needs the understanding of the whole game, not the hero. I guess nobody can help you with a particular hero. They can only help you to get better in this game in general.

The mentor thing is just for getting rewards, not for teaching. I tryied teaching for real when
I had my aprentices but they didnt play often, were not serious, or were just terrible players. Why would I mentor you? You are not my friend, you are not in my squad, Im not getting paid, we will lose many classics (no way Im taking you to rank)... And I dont mean you in particular, I mean you all. Thats the thing with the mentor thing.
I suggest watching youtube videos, trying different item sets, practising a lot ALONE, watch the pros...
or you could ask a friend you play often with.
Who knows, maybe some other pro will have the time and patience to teach strangers, because its always fun to help.

Mentoring/Teaching or whatever you wanna call it. If the user wants to know more about the game, then I'll be more than happy to help the person in need. BTW, I'm the a top claude user, but I do all roles too.
