Hello Gaes...
So I just testing this new Roam items.
There is a 3 New Roam item
Basically, roam item will stop the user to take EXP & GOLD shared when teammate is around. This is good for Tank / Support role to babysitting ADC heroes / Assasins. The user will get EXP & GOLD per 4Sec. This item will give some gold when assist too, Good for Tanks role but still not enough for me.
Here the short explanation :
1. Awe Mask
Mark enemy hit by basic attack, marked enemies will stunned when mark reache 5 basic attack ( Stack last 1.5s)
2. Shadow Mask
Cast a buff to conceal teammate around for 5 sec & give 15% movement spd. Conceal state removed when inflict damage / taking damage
3. Courage Mask
Team buff 30% spd, 20% Atk & Mag when activated. Give 10% bonus stat passively
Here's my review :
1. Awe Mask
This item is really good to ganking enemies. Inflict a mark & some basic attack will triggering the stun effect. the stun effect is niche to killing enemies.
But...
The duration of mark is really short. Just 1.5 Sec before the mark will gone, so you must really communicated well to initiate the fight because the mark will gone when the hero didn't take any damage for 1.5 sec.
This good For Johnson becase Johnson will always have a partner & lot of cc & Belerick I think fit this item.
Pick this item when you babysitting Marksman/Fighter because they like to use fast Basic attack & can trigger the stun really well.
2. Shadow Mask
Well... This is niche to ganking / escaping. In conceal state enemies can't lock the heroes (Like Lesley 1st skill) CMIIW. I like using this item with Grock / Kaja to ambush the enemies. Surprise Madafaka
Pick this item when you have teammate that really like to ganking well.
3. Courage Mask
Yes... This is my favourite. Passive buff with Active Buff is really good offensively / defensively.
Bonus SPD is good to ganking or Fleeing from unnecesary clash. I almost using this item with all tanks, especially Mino & Diggie. Pick this item when you solo Rank, because you didn't know your teammate well & the buff is really nice IMO
Some tips from me :
- Buy Roam item when you reach lvl 3/4. Don't buy it from lvl 1 because you will not get any exp/gold when you have a teammate around. Lvl 4 is the best ctime to buy this mask because you already learn ultimate skills.
- Don't afraid if your level is low, because this item have 2nd effect that will boost EXP & GOLD per 4 Sec when your lvl is really low.

all three are useless because you won't gain exp and gold from minions, jungle creeps, etc. If they removed that condition the items would probably be pretty decent. right now I don't see why anyone would build roam items unless it's a classic game.
awe mask - probably useful if you build it as a last item but early game I dont really see the point of a damage dealer building this. they would be severely crippled in exp and in gold
shadow mask - what's the point of this item? you won't even be completely invisible to the enemy like Natalia is you're just camouflaged like Lesley's s1

Awe mask really needs to have cooldown indicator on its passive this items is good for supports and assasin its a good item to be exact.... I loved this items
I have a strategies,if u pick roam item as tank/support just babysit ur carry until 6 min in game bcuz ur carry will confirm have at least 2-3 core items which is good and efficient way to fatting your carry.After that sell ur roam item as it prevent you to get more item and buy it again when teammates get all items
Nice review, I'm still confused with these items but I'm thinking about Natalia with 2 scenarios.
1) Natalia with Awe Mask, only applicable to Natalia as a carry. Mostly I buy Malefic Roar or Immortality as the last item. Now I can replace them with this mask.
2) Natalia as support. Mostly used by Limit Company (Top Global Natalia after Untaa). He uses Nata as a roamer/support to spot enemies and his teammates will come to gank and others destroy turrets. All masks would suit perfectly for her as a support. But Natalia as support only useful when you play with squad as communication is a crucial part.
I think first and last item is really nice.
I am also thinking of using 3rd item on mino.
The way you explained each and every one of those roaming item is really awesome. Thanks for the feedback.
1) Awe mask: I also used it on Kimmy as late game item. Can also be tried on other heroes like Claude (his ult), Zilong (his passive to trigger 4 basic attacks), Badang (his ult). Or used it on a hero babysitting an MM.
2) Shadow mask: For Johnson's ult, he himself cannot use the item's effect while driving, but his passanger can, but the passanger partner (i.e. Odette or Aurora, or another) also needs gold and exp. For instead, Angela can use that item while ult-ing the driving Johnson or anyone to gank and ambush.
3) Courage mask: just a new Courage Bulwark, with some move speed bonus.
Trying roaming item in classic with several roles.
1. Tank (usually start at mid lane)
- buy the item after boot.
- follow around your partner and start roaming for gank after your partner at mid lane get level 4.
2. Support (usually I start at bottom lane)
- buy the item after getting boot and fleeting time (my core item)
- follow around your partner (usually mm or assassin)
3. Fighter and Assassin (usually start at top lane - solo)
- buy the item after getting boot.
- start roaming after clear minion wave and prioritize jungle monster
- if you are confident with your ability, try invade enemy jungle
- sell item after your gold are high enough to complete your build
This is my method to use roaming item. Maybe it will not suit your gameplay, but it suit mine.
