West Coast player playing on East Coast Server

I am a North American Player from California and I am aware that there consist of 3 servers in the North American Region (West, Central, and East). Depending on where you live, the queue will match you to the closest server to you. So if you are from California, most like West, if you are from New York, most likely East, if Virginia or any states in between, most likely Central. This is atleast how it "should" work for me, but for some reason it keeps connecting me to East Coast Server which really affects my gameplay due to delay. Is there a way to fix this?

Game Version: 1.4.14.445.1When it occured: It started occuring a few seasons ago. I would say around Season 7 or 8. I started playing Season 2 and I was always matched against West players, but ever since then I mostly go East.
How to Trigger: If I make my own lobby, I mostly go East Coast server. If I make a friend of mine from West Coast make the lobby for me, it never matches with East players. The problem has to be within my account.
