How I get to mythic everyseason:
-This first tip is the mostimportant and not many people know it. It’s the order of buying items.Everybody just buys what appears at the top right, your item set. Lets do thisexample with Grock (my newest and favorite tank). First item we need is rapidboots, second item we need athenas shield. Everybody buys the simple bootsfirst, then upgrade them to rapid boots, then magic resist cloak, then vitalitycristal, then silence robe and finaly athenas shield. Its not wrong but itsbetter if you start with 2 magic necklace (that later on will be a thunder belt),then simple boots, then silence robe. With this “technique”, you geteverything, mana regen and magic defense. You don’t get the unique effects ofthe rapid boots or athenas shield so fast, but you don’t really need them inearly game. This same item order priority applies to all roles, not only tank.Check if you need mana, attack speed, magic damage or defense, and buy youritems accordingly.
-We all know its easierwith friends, and its even easier if you are talking. I play with Joey,mage, and with Zig, marksman. When we are three, our win rate is between 40%and 55%, when we are just 2, IT GOES HIGHER. We win more if we are a duo, not atrio. I guess the more people in the team the harder it is to win becausechances are the enemy is a team who knows each other and maybe even aretalking. BUT it might be different in your country or rank, so try to keeptrack of how often you win alone, in duo and trio. Its also very important tocheck the time; for me its super easy to win in the morning and very hard atnight. In the evening its so so. I play rank in the morning, brawl and classicat night.
-Im addicted to the game soI play a lot, that means going solo without my squad. When I solo (usuallylose), I check good players in both teams, and invite ONLY one, to be a duo.But you need to check them. In my case Im main tank so I go well with marksman,assassin, mage or fighter. I dont invite other tanks or support. Don’t invitethe enemy marksman if you are marksman, invite people you can use.
-Last week I was lucky enoughto find 2 pro fannys in the legend division, one was also a gusion and theother one hayabusa and helcurt, so they had options, not only fanny. I just hadto protect them and help them jungle early game. I added them to my friendslist and invited them to the squad but I havent seem them online again, we havedifferent times. I guess these good stranger friends are ok just for one day,but its ok if they help you win even if its only one day. I got 5 stars one dayand 7 the next day with the other person.
-Now that Im mythic, itshell. I go rank but Im the only mythic in my team, I guess its mainlegend rank but there is ALWAYS one or even two epics, with less than 700games. They usually pick weak heros, like a Hylos lol. Of course they end upfeeding or going afk... god why, why god why...
So you need to support thehigher ranks in your team, the marksman or the assassin. If you are an averageassassin, let someone else go assassin, the same with the marksman. I know youlove to shoot your bullets but thats the most important role in the team. Mmhas to push towers, kills, jungle... he is the bussiest. If you are not a superpro marksman, LET SOMEONE ELSE BE THE MARKSMAN IN RANK!!! Keep practising inclassic, or wait for a friend to be online to support you. If you go solo andchoose marksman, not many people help, you know.
-You need to decide if youare playing for fun, or to rank up, or to be a better marksman. I like killingpeople and being marksman, who doesn’t. I love to be the mage, high damage andattack from the back as gord, my favorite. But everybody wants to be marksmanor mage, that’s why I started to specialize on tanks. It was sooooo boring atthe beginning and I died a lot, but we won. Then we would win a lot and itstarted to be fun. Now, as Khufra, Im mvp most of the time, with the mostkills, most damage and 50% tanking lol (ban khufra, most dangerous hero in thegame because he is a killer tank).
-Learn to tank and tankgood. Minotaur is usually available, you can start there. I also recommend gordfor mages, because he has the longest range and super high damage. If yoursacred marksman role is available, go for it. If you master minotaur and gord,you will rank up even if you didn’t get the marksman.
-Dont just pick a meta herobecause he is available, stick to your heros. Ive seen so many freaking xborgsand esmeraldas feeding in both teams.
-Dont pick a role justbecause the team needs it. I always tell my team NO MARKSMAN IS OK when thelast player to pick is a great ruby or assassin or an amazing angela with 2000games. But no, they go for marksman because we didnt have one. Guess what, ouramazing hayabusa was the worst granger in the world. Ignore that message of “needmarksman” but don’t ignore the “not enough DPS”.
-Its ok to haveunconventional compositions. How about a ruby, aurora, vexana, leomord, jawhead?Why? because their players are all main and have lots of games with them. Irather have no marksman in my team, always. Plus the new players have no ideahow to counter a jawhead or a vexana, they are all focused on the xborg,granger, harith... A good vexana or jawhead can totally kill your esmeralda. Ifyou are main whatever, stick to it. But please show your stats in the draft.
-Show your stats in draftso the other players show theirs. You have any idea how many games you havelost because nobody showed their stats at the draft?? Nobody used their main,they didnt want to risk getting a lower win rate with their precious main...and they could have won easily.
There was this game where ishowed all my tanks, i was first pick and I didnt choose jhonson eventhough astranger kept asking me to go jhonson. I only go jhonson with friends, its hardto play jhonson with strangers cause they dont come back to base when u tellthem or they all go back at the same time for a ride lol. Anyway he didnt showhis stats, but he was a main mage with descent numbers, he had like 200 gameswith odete (i have 2000 with jhonson so he was intimidated). He didn’t show me Odette,I could have gone Jhonson if he just showed me his stats, or just tell me somethinglike “Im main odete”.
-Dont take buffs forjungle, just for the money, let someone else get it, EVEN THE TANK!! if he istanking ok, why not?? Or save it for later (which makes more sense), you dontknow if you will die or if your carrier will die and need that buff when hecomes back. Buffs are important. Keep one buff just in case, or give it tosomeone else in your team.
-Turtles are easy to kill,but not alone. As soon as you get one kill or you destroy one turret, its ok togo turtle. The enemy will be clearing waves, going back to base... you havetime to do it but you need to be fast and be at least 3 attacking it. One ortwo teammates can get the turtle but it takes time and enemy can steal it.
-When you have thelord, dont push with him. Let the lord go alone. Dont help him with theminions either, the longer he is in the game the better. Just push the other 2lanes, 2 teammates in the lane with the most turrets (enemies wont be there), 3teammates on the other one and lord alone. Of course, if helping lord can getyou superminions or even the base, of course help lord.
-Help each other, its ateam win or team lose. Some people just want to be MVP no matter if they lose.Im the opposite, I don’t mind feeding, getting a low score, if that made us geta tower or the base. I just want to win no matter what. The more you help eachother, the easier it will be to win. In this season, with all these early highdamage heros, no one should go alone, always in pairs or trios. There is arole, for Chou, Hayabusa, Fanny, where they have to go alone. You don’t need togo top to help them, they want to be alone in the top lane. Unless they ask forhelp, just let them do their thing. You should go and help mid or bottom.
-There are some really good guides about roles or specific heros in thisforum. I just read an amazing guide for marksman and one for tank. There arelots of videos in youtube about all heros, watch them and learn how to counteryour worst nightmare and how to master the heros you are playing.
