There is a way if players have super fast internet connection speed. Cross server matchmaking between EU server and another server like SEA server or NA server.

There is a way to switch your server using VPN and disconnect VPN after entering the hero selection stage. Lagging and AFK might happen if players don't turn off VPN after joining the game

Frankly speaking, aside from how bad matchmaking can be. A player's trashy attitude plays a role in the game as well. The demotivation and reciprocating toxicity, etc.
I can see a lot EU players uses VPN to get to NA, which causes a massive problem in matchmaking as well. VPN know to cause lagging to the extreme, and it ends up to being AFK and feeding and such.
The same thing Asians doing to Europeans. They come using vpn, pick jungler and marksman(mostly Layla), cry because of lag on chat 5 minutes and than go afk. Europeans are running away from EU server because of VPN users from Asia, because of Ukraines and Belarus...etc...we already mentioned here more than million times what is happening on EU server and why EU server is dead now.
